We worked with pharmaceutical company Allergan to redesign an important asset: the Allergan virtual library. Their existing virtual library tool wasn’t being utilized because it was difficult to use. The goal of the project was to create a delightful user experience and make the virtual library useful once again.
We developed a strategy with the key stakeholders at Allergan by creating wireframes and task flows to identify and construct a set of functional requirements. Once we designed the user experience workflows, we created UI designs that echoed the Allergan brand and helped users navigate and quickly access information from any device. We worked with an in-house development team to deliver all assets and functional specifications for implementation into the application.
The virtual library needed to be easy to use and functional on mobile and tablet. It was important that content was organized and searching the library was effortless. Our team defined a content structure that offered a tagging system to give users precise search results. This allowed users to contribute metadata back to the application thus improving search for others.
Our team was keen on providing a thorough understanding of how the application should function by developed a detailed set of wireframes. We experimented with different user experience concepts quickly and obtained feedback in an agile and productive way. Iterating quickly helped decrease our timeline and provided a solid foundation for the user interface design.
With a sound strategy for content and user experience design, we produced responsive design concepts that met the requirements and exceeded all expectations. Working directly with the Allergan team, we designed an easy-to-use, mobile-friendly interface.
Scalable UI & UX Design
Part of the design strategy was to create a modular interface. With few revisions needed, our team created a scalable user interface for the entire R&D department.
